(4pm) Carly showed up right after I got back from the laundramat. (Her dad’s visit went ok and the holidays were quiet except for Gwynn’s troubles.) (Let’s see, there was something about Gwynn writing checks on a closed account; Gwynn was driving drunk and turned onto a one way street going the wrong way, and got her 3rd dui (18 days in jail); Gwynn hocked everything she owns to cover gambling losses; Gwynn stole her boss’s space heater and hocked it, she told him later that she was the one who stole it, and he fired it; Gwynn is getting back to Missoula from New York this weekend and she is checking into a treatment center for 21 days, to try to beat the gambling, pills and booze.)

(5pm) Erica stopped by to say hi. (Neat!)

(7pm) I treated myself to pizza tonite. (Yum!)

(10pm) I feel good!

(5pm) The snow plows came by and plowed my truck in. (Pretty annoying!)

(7pm) I went over to Erica’s and helped her with computer problems. (Neat!)

She gave me some pointers on using my microwave. (I am a dunce when it comes to cooking!)

I still haven’t dug the truck out. (I am in such lousy shape now I would probably have a heart attack.)

(5pm) The cops put a sticker on the truck saying I have to move it or they will tow it away. (First the City plows it in and now they are mad because I can’t move it. (I can understand why people get annoyed with government!))

(5pm) The cops say all I have to do is move the truck two feet and they won’t tow it away. (That is doable but it’s still an annoying law. (I so rarely drive, I break that law every week.)-(They say they want people to leave their vehicles at home; but, when you do, you violate this law dictating that vehicles can’t be left in the same spot on the street for extended periods of time.))

(8pm) I read something where they are talking about eliminating health insurance premiums as a business deduction. (The stated logic is that it’s inappropriate to allow businesses to deduct it when employees don’t have to pay taxes on the benefit. (Tis really compensation and probably should be taxed.)) (I wonder if doing that would help lead us to nationalized health insurance? (If it isn’t deductible, most businesses would stop providing it. (As a larger and larger percent of the population loses health insurance coverage, there will be more and more pressure to find some way to provide coverage for everyone.)))
