If reincarnation is valid, I don't think we should worry so much about taking extremes out of life. (Maybe variances in genetics and body chemistry are how we select the constraints and strengths we use to learn what we are here to learn?) (Maybe we destroy civilization when it starts taking away too much of the variation we need to learn?)
I haven't been playing much solitaire lately; but the other day I was playing a few hands and a few notes from the ozone showed up: Did you ever think about how common decks of cards are and wonder why? I would bet there are more decks of cards in this world than bibles. (What I know about the history of the deck we use now in the U.S. is that it's a subset of the original Tarot deck, and we are not sure where the Tarot deck originated.) (Cards have to be one of the oldest continuing systems of symbology, in existence today. (Few people are consciously aware of that symbology and the meanings of the various cards; but I think something like Jung's concept of race memory exists, and we all know the meanings, at the unconscious level. (In fact, bringing that knowledge into consciousness might actually block its effectiveness, for most people?))) (I also think that, with an old familiar deck, the unconscious may be shuffling the deck and sending messages through that symbology.) (When I play solitaire, I do a lot of free association and am aware of symbolic ideas in the patterns that unfold. (I don't think the deck is telling me anything, but it's a tool for looking at life and bridging the gap between conscious and unconscious.)) (I play solitaire at points in time when I need to think and feel my way through some conflict, and it seems to help.) (A month or so ago, I used the cards to read my fortune using four different systems. (One of the common themes was that success was coming, but more failure will come first, and success will only be attained by persevering despite the failures.)-(Another was that I need a partner to find success. (That one has come up in the past, whenever I have done this.))-(The last major pattern I saw was to hold onto my friends.)-(I don't think the cards say anything, but they are a tool I use to try to tune into what my unconscious mind has to say.)
I wonder what the oldest continuing system of symbology is? (Language has been around a long time, but has changed radically from its origins.) (Mathematics keeps evolving, but its base has remained pretty much unchanged for ages.) (Cards go back a long ways too.) (Maybe it would be one of the oriental systems like the I Ching?) (Whatever, I am glad we have them available to us now!)
(1pm) I like the new George Michael song.
My list of albums to get is growing long again.
(4pm) That I was able to become as relaxed as I was slow dancing with Carrie, gives me some hope I will be capable of physical intimacy again. (I miss her lots!)
(5pm) Nice walk.
It still surprises me when someone likes me. (And when someone seems attracted to me, I am shocked.) (Until I learn to picture myself as likable and desirable, those experiences will continue to amaze me. (And, to be rare occurrences.))
(10pm) Quiet nite. (Nice.)
