Part of why I have avoided women with kids is that few of them can support themselves and I cant afford to help support them. I suppose another part of it is that being around kids stirs up my feelings about my own kids; and I am not ready to deal with that now. (I feel I am a poor excuse for a father and I am not a good male role model for kids; so, until I like myself more, I avoid women with kids.)
Erica has commented a number of times about how much I shake. (She should have seen how I shook the last time I got close to getting laid, if she thinks this is shaking.)
(7pm) I sure feel blue. (So what else is new?)
I have spent a lot of time this last week thinking about all the things in life that I fear and pondering on how to overcome. (Oh well, I can't afford to do many of those things, so I have lots of time to ponder on that.) (Maybe I do things to keep myself poor, so I have a cop out?)
I was visiting with another fellow who hasn't seen his kids in years. (I think there is a lot of that going around.)

(Noon) Busy morning.
The weatherman says the weather will be beautiful all weekend. (Good for everyone else!) (I get to work all weekend.)
Things I have noticed about biking:
1. I notice the impact of cigs a lot more when I am biking than when I walk.
2. Walking is more conducive to girl watching.
3. I can't let my mind wander off like I can when I walk.
I have been pondering "victimless crimes" again:
1. In "Love and addiction" he theorizes that addictive patterns are tied to people not liking themselves. Isn't that also true in "victimless crimes"? (e.g., hookers often don't like themselves much.) (And, if the crime against self is committed, at least in part because people don't like themselves, putting them in jail isn't addressing the real problem.)-(In fact, it just diminishes their self-esteem, in most cases, and makes repetition of the "crime" more likely.)
2. One argument in the issue of legalizing prostitution is rape. (Places that have legalized it experience reduced levels of rape, so eliminating that victimless crime also eliminates crimes against others.)
3. I think the primary reasons for legalization of all "victimless crimes" are:
a. It would eliminate the cost of trying to enforce unenforceable laws.
b. It eliminates the deaths that happen as a result of enforcing the laws, and those that result from people living outside the law. (e.g., one of the most harmful aspects of making prostitution illegal is the power that pimps are able to exert, as a result of it being illegal.)
c. It would reduce the cost of all those activities, as much of the cost is related to the risk involved in delivering something illegal; which would in turn reduce the violent and property crime rates, which result from desperate people trying to come up with the money.
d. It takes some of the negative labels off of the people involved. (People who dont like themselves already dont need others affirming their self-image.)
