(9am (MDT)) Shoeshine, Idaho 64,453 8.51 gallons

There hasn’t been much traffic so far.

(9:30am) Erica called. (Tis weird to be able to get calls while driving through the middle of nowhere.) (She is tired of taking care of things for me and is glad I am coming home early.) (She says the university called and I have a job interview with them.) (I suppose it’s about time to start thinking about my life again. (Tis a shambles right now!) (It has been nice to forget about it all for a couple weeks, but I can’t ignore it much longer.))

(1pm) Salmon, Idaho 64,685 8.1 gallons

Tis clouding up and getting cooler. (Nice!)

I am glad I am driving this stretch of road during the day this year. (Beautiful!)

(4:15pm) Missoula, Montana 64,935 5.08 gallons

Tis cloudy and hazy, just like when I left.

10-6-99

(8am) Happy birthday to me!

(9am) Carrie called and wished me a happy birthday. (Neat!)

(11pm) I did some shrooms and watched x-rated videos to celebrate. (Fun!)

11-7-99

(1pm) I went in and joined the Club again.

I stayed too long with the City. (I forgot that being is more important than having.) (Also, I forgot how big a trap the everydayness is.)

10-9-99

(9pm) I have managed to convert about 1,500 poems into web pages, so that project is moving forward.

Now I have started editing the portion of "Outlaws and Poets" that I have already got loaded into the computer.

Well, today’s the anniversary of my mom’s death and being stood up by Sally.

I am beginning to think moving to Missoula was another mistake.
