(1pm) Winnemucca, Nevada 64,114
It looks like there is a little farming and ranching here, but after driving through town it looks like the economy is mostly based on gambling. (There are several brothels here, which is a big plus for me.)
The burning man celebration is starting in a few days some where around here. (I wish I had the time and money to attend that.) (Or, maybe I just need some courage?)
(2pm) I ran into a little rain and that has cooled things down a little.
(3:30pm) Elko, Nevada 64,247 10.19 gallons
Elko is a little bigger than Winnemucca, and seems pretty similar. (Again they have a few brothels here.) (Of the places I have seen in Nevada, this comes closest to being someplace I like.) (I would probably have the same problem here Faye and Larry have in Kingman. (On the other hand, unless I stop being a hermit, it really doesn’t matter where I live. (I am not going to have any contact with the people who live around me.)))
From what I have been able to figure out, northern Nevada has similar winters to Montana, in terms of length. The downside is I have seen signs on the highway warning about high winds, so it might have worse wind chill factors in the winter.
If water isn’t too expensive, I might be able to do some gardening here.
If what the City of Kingman pays their chief administrative officer is reflective of the region, they pay much better down here than in Montana.
(4:30pm) Wells, Nevada 64,350
I am beat and I need to stop for some rest.
I have noticed a few stretches where fire has swept across the desert. (It sounds like there are fires sweeping across a lot of the west.) (I wonder what it’s going to take for people to wake up?)
(9pm) I couldn’t afford it, but I went down to the Hacienda Ranch for an hour of human contact. (She was nice! (She is almost 41 and is going to retire from the brothels soon.) (She had been working at the Mustang Ranch, and has to find a new place to work now that the IRS has closed them down again. (She says it’s a big step down working here. (At the Mustang she had a big room with a hot tub and king size bed. (Here she has a tiny room.))-(Also, the Mustang let her live in town, but here they require the women to live at the brothel.))) (She only has a two-week contract here and she is going to look for a nicer brothel to work at. (From what I have read, it sounds like the nicest brothels are the one’s closest to Reno and Vegas.))) (It sounds like she is set for life. (She says she has enough money stashed away to live anywhere and do anything she wants, but she hasn’t figured out yet where she wants to live or what she wants to do. (She is at the same place as me, but she has money.))) (She is originally form California.) (She is by far the best looking woman working at that house. (I would guess she has breast implants, so she has cheated a little.)) (Twas wonderful to have some human contact and companionship!) (Maybe someday I will find someone, but for now I belong to the ladies of the nite.)
