The DOW ended the day up 31. (I don’t know how the day went though, so that isn’t really too revealing.)

Well, I caught up on all my writing notes finally. (That is the first time on this trip.)

(7pm) The motel’s bar/restaurant is still short on food so this makes two nites in a row of burgers. (They did have fries tonite.) (I am guessing they are having cash flow problems and can’t keep the kitchen stocked.) (The only women were employees, but the bartender is a very cute Chicano woman and I can’t complain.)

I have been picking Ramada Inn because the one in Bozeman has a bar with lots of dark corners and was one of the spots women went for one nite stands and other illicit sexual encounters. (Oh well, there is always the brothels and strip joints of Nevada.)

(9pm) Well, I walked down to the bar. (This time no women.) (Time to put the condoms away, get some sleep and save my money to plow into more fertile fields.)

(7am) Santa Fe, New Mexico 55,216 6.73 g.

On the road again.

(9:30am) Acoma, New Mexico 55,350

A woman I talked with on the street yesterday suggested I stop here and see the Pueblo. (Tis kind of off the beaten track but it should be interesting.)

(10:30am) That was an interesting tour. (Tis amazing how harsh an environment people can endure and survive.) (From what I have read, the climate in the southwest was more conducive to humans in the past. (I would guess that, with plenty of rain, this area would be a garden.)) (Someday it would be interesting to take an archaeological tour of the southwest and visit all these places.)

(12pm) Grants, New Mexico 55,389 6.65 g.

Well, today lunch is Burger King burgers.

(2:30pm) Petrified Forest, Arizona 55,527 6.2 g.

(7pm) Flagstaff, Arizona 55,677

I had been through the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert 40 years ago, but they are more beautiful than I remembered.

The wind the weatherman predicted showed up. (It sure makes driving tough.)

This Ramada doesn’t even have a bar. (On the plus side there is a guest laundry room right across the hall. (I needed to do laundry before long and I was wondering where I was going to get that taken care of.))
