(Noon) My dad called and bs’d awhile. (Tis raining a lot there and he hasn’t been able to get his crops in yet.) (He offered to help Bryan with college. (I will leave him a note telling him to write my dad and let him know the details of his costs and grants.))

(9pm) I helped Miranda set up her new furniture at work. (Jigsaw puzzles are fun!)

5-20-93

(7pm) I had dinner with Miranda. (Nice!) (She made a comment about me finding a girlfriend and I reminded her the letter she wrote where she said I was totally undesirable. (I am just not good enough for anyone yet.))

(Noon) Bryan slept through his graduation ceremony. (Oh well, tis his choice!)

6-6-93

(8am) Erica called a few hours ago and woke me up. (Her car broke down out around Drummond and I drove out there and gave her a lift back to town.)

6-9-93

(6am) Tis a relief that we were able to vote down sales tax again.

(5pm) I got a letter from Samantha. (It sounds like she had a fun birthday party and is doing well. (Good for her!))

6-18-93

(5pm) Joe left me a depressing letter. (I am a shitty parent!)-(And, everything else!)

(10pm) Note from the ozone: Despite how electronically connected we are becoming and how interdependent we are (specialization limits what any one person can accomplish without buying products and services from others), we are losing our sense of community. (Some of the factors causing that, that I see, are that we have lost personal contact with the makers and sellers of what we consume, the nuclear family, the distance we travel to work has increased, the mobility of jobs, tv, ….) (In part the solution may be to build new communities electronically, but I don’t think that is all of it. (Somehow we also have to begin reconnecting to the people who live and work around us.))
