I got a wedding invitation from Samantha and Leo.

(11am) Erica stopped by and said hi. (Neat!)
She isn’t feeling well. (Sad!)
(4pm) Erica stopped by for a bowl and a brew. (Neat!)
She says she is getting back into exercise. (Good for her!) (Exercise is good on a lot of levels!)
7-15-90
(Midnite) Gwynn took me out to eat and to the Rhino, to pay me back for the computer help. (Nice nite!)
She has a pretty good chance of a good job in New York, and she is flying there for an interview. (Some guy she talked to in the weight room made a comment about possibly opening a new company here in the fall and he wants her to come talk to him if he does. (It sounds like she is thinking of blowing off the good job in New York on the off chance that she might get a job here someday. (I can relate. (I could do better somewhere else, but there is something about this place that I like.))))
She rattled on about how much she loves Pete. (I gave her a lecture about needing to go to Butte every weekend to see him, and investing time and energy to build that relationship; or else someday someone else is going to do it and she will get a phone call saying he is getting married. (She seems to think they can continue on as they have been forever, and he will always be there at her beck and call. (It could well be a defense mechanism. (The situation lets her avoid commitment and intimacy, and still deceive herself into thinking she is involved in a long-term relationship.)-(She didn’t have any comment when I suggested that possibility.))))
Although she ditched the guy she was flirting with last nite and went and found Pete, she passed out as soon as he got her to bed, so she continues to be "celibate". (She claims Pete is the only guy she has sex with. (Maybe she blacks out her little interludes with other fellows to help perpetuate the relationship fantasy?))
She rattled on some about being amazed she finally graduated. (16 years is a long time to be working on a degree, but others have taken longer. (I took a break from college too, but I got back to it quicker. (Or, maybe not. (My first degree was in psychology and my plan to get a Ph.D. is still on hold.))))
It will be awhile before she comes around here again, so I guess it isn’t too much of a drag to listen to her ramblings. (When there is a few month gap between visits, the monologue she is running at the moment has changed a little bit and is bearable. (Maybe that is why Pete is content to see her so rarely?))
