She says she doesnt like the Health Departments idea of licensing restaurant workers. (She doesnt want to be required to pay for classes, in order to keep her job.)
(1pm) Laurie called. (She wants to go for a walk tomorrow morning and to a movie at the Crystal Monday nite.)
(3pm) Oh yes, Sharon got an echo key chain. (It beeps when it hears a certain pitch noise. (It went off several times while we were in bed. (Weird!)))
(5pm) Ross and Carly stopped by and I am going up to their place for a barbecue.
(10pm) Dinner was delish! (Yum!)
Gwynns eye has gotten better again. (Good for her!) (The eye injury last year formed a scab on the inside of her eyelid and it tore a chunk of her iris out. (She spent a few days with her eye swollen shut, and wasted on percadans she used to kill the pain.) (The eye problem put her behind in school again.))
She is going to New York in June and will be back in July. (She says she is going sailing. (Sounds like fun!))
She is happy living out there!
Now I am trying to get psyched up for the Hat.
5-29-88
(Midnite) Well, I made it to the Hat, but I was way too uptight and came home after one set. (At least I made it out the door!)
(1am) Time for sleep!
(8am) I feel good!
(10am) I sure enjoy kicking back with coffee and the newspaper on Sunday mornings! (Tis amazing how much joy can be found in simple things!)
Erica is talking about getting a swamp cooler for the trailer. (Sounds good!)
Another idea the local politicians are talking about is requiring all vehicles to meet strict emission standards and under going a thorough inspection. (Like a lot of ideas, it sounds good in theory.) (The problem is that a sizable portion of our community is poor, and rules like those have a severe impact on their lives.) (The reality is that if the full costs of driving were assessed, not many could afford to drive.)-(It would be difficult and require major upgrades to public transportation, but its a necessary step we will have to take to survive.)-(I have walked to work for years and try to limit my driving to grocery and laundry trips. (It has been good for my health and it has been good for the environment.))
(11am) I called Laurie and she says she is too busy for a walk this morning. (Her son is joining the Navy and she is throwing a going away party for him today.)
