More from "Psychology Today" – "Although many people consider themselves to be generally shy, some are so severely affected that their shyness precludes normal romantic involvement or marriage. In American culture, in which men are still usually expected to initiate encounters with women, the costs of ‘love shyness’ are likely to be especially high for men" (How true!)

"… vicious circle that is all too common among unhappy people. Their behavior drives away the very people whose support and acceptance they need, thereby worsening their depression and intensifying their need for support."

(4pm) Well chores are done. (Yeah!)

(8pm) Ross called and I went down there for a fish dinner. (Yum!)

Gwynn was there too and I sat outside for awhile bs’ing with her. (She was worrying about school again. (She has a final tomorrow and a paper is due, and the rest of her finals are next week. (It sounds like it’s a tough row to hoe, and is creating a lot of stress.))) (She told me about her workouts. (They make my workouts look like a walk in the park.)) (She says her current illness is the result of stress from school. (I would say it’s a combination of that and going overboard on exercise.)) (She says she is going to skip summer school and give herself a break.)

Carly and Ross weren’t feeling well and they didn’t say much to me. (Their new thing is going to the tanning salon.) (I talked to Ross a bit about computers.) (It sounds like they have been getting into painkillers lately.)

(9pm) I suppose I should go downtown, but I can’t get psyched up for it. (Frustrating!)

I managed to get a bunch of tapes done today. (It feels good to do things for others!)

(10pm) Quiet nite. (Nice!)

Tiredness!

(8am) Happy first day of spring!

Now I am mad at myself for not making it downtown this weekend. (I had money for it, and a lot of the college kids had split town this weekend.) (The joys of shyness and phobias!)-(I really doubt I will start dating anytime soon. (I can’t even make it out the door to go to a bar most of the time.))

(Noon) I did some work on Sharon and Miranda’s tax returns, but ended up with questions on both. (I finally know Sharon’s last name.) (Neither of them is home, so it’s time to wait again.)

(3pm) I got hold of Miranda and got her return done. (She is happy with her refund!)

(6pm) I finished up most of my taping projects. (Neat!)

I spent a lot of this weekend doing things for other people again. (That makes me feel good!)
