Another problem with Daphne is that she is anti-cigs. (And, she is into play and I don’t know how.) (I will have to overcome my phobias before the women I am attracted to will be attracted to me.)

Tis about time for a new writing pad notebook. (This is the third one I have worn out writing in the past five years.)

(8pm) Erica stopped by and visited for a bit. (Neat!)

She says she had a big fight with Henry. (Most relationships have a few of those. (Tis when it’s a daily event and the only way that the couple communicates, that it’s a problem.))

I need to spend some time typing up "Outlaws and Poets" pages again. (The pile is growing.)

(9pm) I have been trying to finish up that water slide project, but I keep running into snags. (Patience!)

My boss is going out of town for two days. (I hope handling all his phone calls doesn’t bury me!)

I am still trying to untangle the mess the County grants people created. (Tis going to take quite a bit of time to get it cleaned up!) (And, it’s looking like some more of the old loans made with grant money are going to go into default.)

And, I have people who are wanting me to start working on getting new grants. (There is a lot of money available from a lot of sources and we owe it to the City’s taxpayers to do as much with grants funds as we can.)

We lost a bunch of tax money when a church hospital bought out a private hospital. (My boss is going to ask the legislature to make hospitals owned by churches taxable. (That will stir up a hornet’s nest.) (Personally I agree. (They are running a business and competing with for profit organizations and it gives them an unfair advantage to be tax exempt.)))

Another project on the horizon is getting an indoor ice skating facility.

The Fire Department is sure expensive. (e.g., we just bought two replacement fire engines and paid $175,000 each for them.) (e.g., the next replacement coming up is one of the aerial ladder trucks. (They cost $400,000.)) (The operating costs of the Police Department are about the same as Fire, but the huge capital outlays for fire stations and equipment make it more expensive.)

The Wastewater and Street Divisions of Public Works are even more expensive.

Tis fascinating to learn about everything that it takes to keep a City running!

The Council meetings are pretty good therapy for me.

(10pm) Quiet nite. (Nice!)

We all have our faults and weaknesses, but we also have our good sides and strengths. (Tis what makes it all so interesting!)
