The cat keeps getting wilder. (Hopefully, she will mellow out in time.)
(6am) Erica says one of her bosses is having an affair with the other boss. She says her boss had a hard time at their work Xmas party because the guy showed up with his wife. (I can relate. My feelings for Erica have triggered plenty of attacks of jealousy over the years, and that is without the bonding created by physical intimacy.) (I suppose that is still part of why I rarely spend time with Erica, except when she stops by.) (I wonder if her boss chose him because, unconsciously, she isnt ready for commitment yet? (If so, I think that is a better substitute for physical intimacy than what I have chosen.)) (I might be better off if I had an affair with a married woman, rather than with Rosie.) (The trick, for her boss, may be to accept consciously the unconscious reasons for the affair. (e.g., I went for years thinking, consciously, that I wanted a relationship, but my unconscious was setting things up to keep it from happening. (I am a lot happier now that I understand I am just not ready for a girlfriend and have more healing to do!))) (I told Erica to tell her boss to read "Love me, love me not". (I think I will give that book to Miranda for Xmas.))
(7am) I know declawing the cat is one answer to the problem we are having, but she would have to get a lot worse before I would go that route. (I think that is cruel.) (Keep trying the plant mister and be patient with her.)
So far I like doing my workouts in the mornings. (Nice way to start the day!)
(5pm) Erica stopped by at lunchtime to visit the cat and drop off another letter.
I think I will give Erica a little money to buy some new posters for the apartment. (She is better at decorating than I am.)
Erica thought it was strange that I was the only guy in the break room. (Most of the people in City Hall are women, and most of the men who do work there are bosses who feel it isnt appropriate to hang out with their subordinates in the break room.) (Local government is still a very chauvinistic environment. Most of the good paying jobs (e.g., police, fire, street crews, .) are held by men, and most of the women employees have low level clerical jobs.)
Erica thinks I would freak out if Lauren invited me skiing. (How true!) (So far I have made a point of turning off the women at work, but I haven't tried as hard with her.) (We talked some more today. (She says she is originally from California, but has spent the past few years living in a small town in southwest Colorado. She says she moved here because she wanted to try a bigger town. (She thinks Montana is primitive compared to Colorado, but she likes it here.))) (It sounds like she skis for fun, not to compete.)
Erica says the cat sat on her lap for a half-hour. (Amazing!) (Another example of a female who doesn't want me to touch her.) (Lucky cat!)
Friday is payday. (I am ready!)
So far I haven't gotten too much shit at work about the cigs.
